My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that this is more of a tradition and not a law. Technically, lawfully, he CAN be charged/indicted. That being said, even with a house full of Dems that seems unlikely. For one thing, they will be thinking, is Pence actually better? I mean, yes, Pence isn't batshit insane and/or senile. He won't be tweeting insults at Kim Il Jong II at 3am, but he's still a monster. He's just got a better disguise than the orange clown. Dems may wish to put Trump through some long embarrassing impeachment proceedings, but they probably want him to stay "in charge" until the 2020 elections. Just my guess though.
