I have a raincoat that reaches to mid-calf. When I taught school ('94-'96 school years), I got teased about it being a duster, with a long gun underneath. I taught math and physics, and didn't even own a long gun at the time (well, OK, a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun-"You can put an eye out with that thing!"). Weird, to say the least. I guess teaching classes in Mathenese put people off. True fact- I was actually trained as an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor at the time, though the people at the school had never been told. I was also a trained Hazardous Waste Operations (40-hour course) technician. They didn't know that, either.
