Since the tribal wing under the command of MBS (the guy in the picture in the Human Rights Watch report) is demolishing the religious wing; being an atheist is actually an advantage. The religious wing is being hit by the tribal wing.
The kingdom is going bankrupted and its economy is going downwards, so it's trying to survive by rejecting the religious wing, thus gaining the trust of Trump and western investors to invest in the kingdom.
Moreover, I'm counting on God to aid me and keep me safe. I'm dead sure that me being here for almost 6 years wasn't a coincidence, I found this place for a reason and knew you people for a reason too.
Atlass, religion is causing that tribalism. Those wanting change there like you believe in the same God those who want to cling to the past do. It is no different in any other religion. You have people who believe but don't want to live under conservative brutal rule, then you have the conservative wing of that religion whom want to stay in a brutal past.
And I wouldn't trust Trump to pick up dog shit. He loves authoritarians, look at how he praises Putin and Kim.
Our conservatives are freaking out about times changing here too. They hate that a black guy was president. They hate reproductive rights for women. They hate same sex marriage. And they base that fear of change and bigotry on the bible. Just like your Wahhabists are still ultimately basing their worship of him, on the Koran.
The empathetic left, those whom value pluralism and a open society, believe in the same God/s and holy books as the conservative fearful bigoted right. Those two factions exist in every religious label.
