But my house is rated for a cat 3 so maybe say some broken windows, it should be repairable. I don't live in a flood area.
You still have to worry about storm surge though. Keep us posted and check in to let us know you're OK.
Guys, I am 190 miles inland at a hotel. I'll be fine. My house though, that is only 2 miles from the Ocean. But I have been talking to people still there, and the worst I have to worry about with my house it seems right now, are broken windows and looters. I cant go back until Tuesday the earliest because it will be raining Sunday and Monday.
The good thing seems to be that the city north of me took the brunt, but even then most of the damage was mostly downed trees. The major flooding you are going to hear about is with tributaries and rivers further inland which my house is not near.
But me, I'm fine. Been hearing from my friends still there and so far everyone seems to be ok. I know now my neighborhood didn't flood based upon the local news reports and talking to my friends still there.
Still glad I left because this last Monday it was still a Cat 4. It is hard to predict if a category will go up or down closer to shore.
Some fucking assholes complained to the local TV station that a American Flag was not lowered for the storm. Hey assholes, if you want to honor the flag, worry about the human victims and not an object that can be replaced.
