Tipping in the service industry

We should fight to make sure wait staff and salon workers and others like them have a living wage and benefits. There is very little tipping here in Germany because those people get those benefits.

But until that happy day, if you don't tip those folks in the US, you are a selfish ass.

What, even if they shave half your hair off by mistake?

Then you file a complaint with the state board of cosmetology. If the job they did was that much of a fuck up - they shouldn't be working in the industry. Seriously, given the training and the amount of hours we have to put in for our education and what we have to do for testing, if someone is so careless with a pair of clippers that they shave your head like that, then that's a reportable offense.
