Convicted felons here already have to give a DNA sample to the government. Since most felons are repeat offenders some crimes are solved that way.
If The Man (meaning gov't authorities) wants my DNA sample, they'll have to drag me kicking and screaming to get it. And I couldn't care less about what were the ethnicities of my ancestors hundreds of years or millennia ago so I'll never send my DNA into one of those website who claim to determine that for you.
I think there will come a time when most people willingly give up their DNA and we'll all be in a database, but hopefully I'll be long dead by then.

We all came from Africa; where one defines the parting line is up to them. I also agree that I ain't giving up any DNA, in spite of the fact that the statute of limitations has long since run out on those stolen hub caps.
