Melania Trump says Sexual Assault victims shouldn't report unless they have evidence

About 10 years ago, a co-worker attempted to choke me after a heated sales vs. engineering dispute. We were alone in the room although people in the adjacent room heard us arguing. It left no bruises but nevertheless I filed a police report. Even though the owner and the co-worker were close personal friends, I told him what had happened. My only request was that I be allowed to work off-site for a while and not be required to meet with the co-worker alone. I was told that wasn't going to happen and asked what I was hoping to get out of this, implying I had ulterior motives. So I left that job and soon after someone sent me a turd in the mail. Despite my earnest efforts to find a new job, I was out of work for almost a year. I saw a different therapist a couple of times to help process what happened and I prayed for my co-worker.

My personal opinion is this. I never truly expected anything to happen to my co-worker in a company of less than 50 workers and him being a friend of the owner. Still I thought it was important to make what happen known to the parties involved so that if it happened again perhaps something would happen. Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't. I've moved on. Later I heard from other former co-workers that the guy was taking anger-management classes. I'm glad he's getting help and I wish him well.
