That a woman could remember the face of her assailant after 40 years, as compared to 2nd or 3rd-hand accounts that were not written by eyewitnesses to the "event" who lived hundreds to a few thousand miles away from it??

Ok... what’s your evidence for these claims?

I have little doubt that Dr. Ford remembered who, in fact, assaulted her, likely, having seen his face in the news and on the Internet over the past years and decades.  Now, if she had said that she had been abducted by space aliens, taken to their home-world to be made their queen, only to escape back to Earth via a wormhole that closed on the heels of her captures fleeing after her, then, yes, I would have some grave doubts.
