Melania Trump says Sexual Assault victims shouldn't report unless they have evidence

Isn't supposed to be the job of the police and procecution to find evidence and convince a judge or jury of the guilt of someone. If it's not the job of the accused to prove his innocence, it certainly the job of the victim to prove its guilt.

That makes no sense. How do the police and courts investigate and adjudicate a crime if the victim doesn't report the rape in the first place?
Also, criminal cases are The People vs. (accused rapist) not the victim vs. (accused rapist).

I just realised I made a pretty big typo . It certainly NOT the job o the victim to prove its (the accused) guilt. A victim doesn't need proofs to make accusation, but the State needs proofs to condamn someone.
