Actually - a landline phone is LESS likely to be tapped than a cell... Cells go over radio - and anyone with the right equipment can listen. Landlines you need a subpeona - technically....
And clicking isn't an indication of tapping - it' s an indication of poor quality equipment.
Speaking from experience - you're wrong about landlines. Ours were bugged for several years throughout the 80's and early 90's. I should know. I lived through that shit.
Furthermore the technology that exists now, did not exist 30 years ago. Times were vastly different then than they are now.
I agree, my landline was tapped for a while back in the early 90’s.
