I have already explained that we do not assert that a God does not exist. We say there is not enough evidence to say that one does.

Then you are not an Atheist, you are an agnostic of some sort. Perhaps you are on the wrong forum?

No, I know what I am, thanks. A(without)theist(belief in God). An atheist COULD say 'I believe there is no God', but all that is required is 'I do not believe there is any reason to believe in God'.

Now I've been kind enough to give you some pointers on how to interact here without getting banned, because I like debate and discussion and I think more theists here could be a good thing. But your 'show you the light' shit has got to stop. It's against the rules you agreed to when you signed up.

A quick explanation of the burden of proof. The easiest way to illustrate it is Russell's Teapot, which I quote here:

'If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time'

Obviously you don't believe that the Teapot exists, and the burden would be on the claimant to prove it exists, not for you to disprove it.

Finally, there is a thread in I think the Religion forum called 'Evidence for God's Existence'. Go and put your proof forward in there and we will respond.
