I totally agree with you except that the interest of the U.S is not involved at all in Trump's agenda: but the interest of himself and the wing he is representing.
Trump gained a lot -personally- from supporting the Sauds, I wonder how much unofficial payments -bribes- were made to buy him by MBS. Also the Oligarch class -which dominates the leadership of Republicans- is totally wanting MBS in power:

Trump is loyal to them. I don't know if this is like the "motherfuckers united" club that involves an alliance of rich fucks from Russia to the U.S; with Trump being a member of it -president of the U.S- and Putin also -president of Russia- along with Arab regimes like the Saudi regime and the UAE regime.
I agree there are higher powers, but they have nothing to do with the U.S or its interest. Trump is milking the U.S and almost the whole world out of their wealth.
