Fortunately we're not big on lettuce around my place, and the only time I get Romaine is specifically when I want to make a Caesar salad (which is quite infrequent).
I do wonder how hard it would be to grow my own inside the house, though. I have an aquarium retrofitted with an LED plant light that only gets used in late winter for getting seedlings started, but nothing says I can't start some salad greens now.
