Oh c'mon. They've got to have some type of metabolism and that metabolism obviously involves blood. I'm calling bullshit on this one.
Vampiric cells don’t divide - this is why vampires don’t age (source: Anne Rice). If cells don’t divide, viruses can’t reproduce.
But the chief argument against AIDS-infected vampires is that HIV doesn’t survive room temperature for more than about six days (source on vampiric body temperature: Bram Stoker)
