And that is laudable.
Sometimes you can recognise your prejudice and act to mitigate it.
Its people who wont who are the problem.
I'll tell you something, though. I am pretty sure that many of those who consider themselves to be ultra-liberal are in their own way just as bigoted as neo-Nazis. Ultra liberals have this maddening way of acting like people owe them for their 'acceptance'. And they have this maddening way of going around and patting themselves on the back for how accepting they are. And they get angry when someone points out to them that no one owes them anything for their acceptance. I have told a lot of them that "If you think that someone should be grateful to you for your acceptance, then you have to think that person must be a lesser being than you." It's all, "Ooh, I'm up here, and you're down there; and I'm accepting of you; don't you think that's special?." And then they wonder why people are telling them to go fuck themselves.
And you also get the feeling that people like that are actually afraid of black people who don't act white. They'll positively crap their pants if they see any black people with guns. Chances are, we are all a bit racist. It's in our DNA. We shouldn't embrace, but we also shouldn't deny it. We should just be aware of it so that we can keep it under control and make conscious efforts to treat each other fairly.
We do not inherit the world from our parents. We borrow it from our children.
