So, last week NZ celebrated Waitangi Day, the day in which, in 1840, the Maori chiefs signed a teeaty with the British crown (basically think of a long term rental agreement where the new tenants steal and weeck your stuff).
Now some people don't want to call it Waitangi Day any longer, instead calling it New Zealand Day to be more inclusive.
Apparently my suggestion of "Ha-Ha We Nicked Your Country Day" was "insulting", "highly inappropriate", and "put the knife down, Beccs!"
