Can I reference Mathew Broderic in 'War games' to boleter my views on 1980's cold war politics?
Jigger me sideways Drich's poets are a good laugh sometimes!
what's really funny is now you get it even if I had to borrow from a pop culture source.. but only if there was some biblical precedent of borrowing from popculture to illustrate a story in the bible and tie it to a much broader but refined principle... Something like taking a story and PARALELLING it with a principle law or truth that maybe harder to understand for someone with little to know understanding of godly things but with a good working understanding of popular culture...

Hey pee-ho(le) I talking about a Parable.
You know the stories Jesus used to connect people familiar with their popular culture and assigned meaning to his story by illustrating his points in a way people can understand more easily.
Pop culture has changed sport.. people's understanding of God has not. So they need something they can relate to and what more reliable way than a movie everyone has seen, change one or two plot points and next thing you know you have a sunday school lesson.
It's called teaching... is it so strange a concept to you that someone would be here trying to educate others or at least give them a better understanding of what they hate? Never crossed you mind we are not all here to just hate each other?
You... seem to be really reaching there Drich.
I am finding it amusing that, as evidence to bolster your point, the very best you could seem to do was reffer to a movie.
Not a documentary. Not some scolastic, peer reveiwed work or collection of statistics but a piece of entertainment.
Hence my comment of some one, or I, attempting to make some insightful comments about cold war America... only to reffer to "War Games' starring Michael Broderic as supposed supporting evidence for said claims.
That you're continuing to try and run with you narrative as opposed to rebutting my remarks would also seem also to be par for the course with yourself as you relate to every one else on the forum.
As for "Peoples understanding of god has not changed" ?
Gee... that's odd. I would actually seem to think people's understanding of your diety has changed a great deal. Unless you still think things such as slavery are a good, moral choice for people to keep doing in this modern age as opposed to back when technology was still in the bronze age.
Not at work.
