Exactly. Even if we had better vetting at the time of sale, as you very often point out, that isn't going to stop the guns from getting into kids hands, and we'll still want the metal detectors. They already have a guy with a gun in them, the SRO, and it might already be one gun too many. Predictably, an SRO doesn't seem to have much of an effect on active shootings, or any violence at all, in fact. We've dumped millions (state by state) into SRO funding. No relationships have thusfar been demonstrated. Giving the whacked out pot smoking kindergarten teacher a pistol is a downgrade...and are we expecting it to make a difference this time?
