It really shouldn't stand up. He has to live with the fact that he ran away. That's enough. He can hardly be held responsible for what a psychopath did.

And, honestly, there's still a good chance that even if he did leap into action, by the time he got to the scene of the crime, it'd have all been over (the massacre lasted six minutes) and he would have blended into the crowd of students fleeing the scene (note: Cruz did this IRL).

I don’t think Scot Peterson should be facing any charges but that Supreme Court decision makes me feel icky. I don’t know. If there’s a court order mandating the arrest of someone who violates a protection order, the police should be required to make a reasonable attempt to arrest the person. Otherwise, wtf is the purpose of having court orders to begin with?

Apparently, the fact that the Gonzales v. Town of Castle Rock decision was written by Scalia might explain some things.

Also, Scot Peterson? Isn't he already in San Quentin? How the fuck did he get to Florida without the California DoJ noticing?
