TL;DR: border walls along the river are likely to actually increase deaths, and not just of migrants trying to get across, but of non-migrants who already live there and have to deal with the Rio Grande Valley’s floods. And bear in mind, there’s flooding going around the area AS WE SPEAK. And actual criminals are still likely to find ways around them.
