Watching Fraggle Rock, and the episode I'm currently watching semi-recently got embroiled in a really stupid controversy. See if you can figure out where it lies:

Around 5:43, Wembley tells Gobo "Gee, Gobo, We're Sorry." Since this particular instance of the words "Gee, Gobo" (I'm almost certain the phrase has been said dozens of times by other characters in the previous 41 episodes) isn't particularly well-enunciated, one viewer in a rerun on the Hub thought he was calling him a "jigaboo." In this viewer's struggle to get the word out about this questionable pronunciation, unfortunately, he failed to take a step back and think "wait a tic, would calling a small orange creature with a Canadian Accent whose name is Gobo a Jigaboo (a racial slur with very specific connotations that, according to my research, was antiquated even by the days of the Civil Rights Era) even MAKE ANY GODDAM SENSE IN THIS CONTEXT?" Despite The Hub investigating the original script and confirming that the line was actually "Gee, Gobo," (hey, guys, you think you can confirm the actual lyrics to "Dixie Wailin'"?) they duly decided to edit the line. And the guy who complained said ""Why would they change it unless that's what they said?"
