God shows his love for us by giving people the brains to be doctors, engineers and ect. I do not have the brain that would allow me to accomplish those things, my abilities lay else where. I am grateful that those people chose to become doctors and engineers and I'm grateful that God gave them the brain it took to do those things. So yes God deserves to receive thanks and so do the people who help us with our difficulties and other things of necessity. The thing I find interesting in the OP is everyone assumed the person was a Christian. Many times I've heard people who do not believe use the same phrase. If you are going to argue over something certain grounds need to be established or you might be wasting your time and energy on something as silly as a spoken phrase that could have meant nothing to the person who stated it, she didn't even mention God according to the OP so all was assumed.

GC *etc doesn't require and before it. Also are we thanking God for giving mad axe murderers their brains and ect.
Being a mad axe murderer doesn't require a special brain, just a sick one along with a sick heart. God gives neither of those, they come from the self through sin. Then why did you do the very same thing with ect. If grammar is all you can find wrong with my argument then why respond.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
