The US seems to have forgotten the US is part of the west, and not the west. US dominance depends on western hegemony. San western hegemony, the US would be a 2nd rate power by mid century, having a national economy relative to the new top economies of the world in 2050 - China and India - of about the same size as that of Britain or Germany relative to the US and China now.
Well, to be somewhat fair to these knuckle dragging Cro Mangnon morons, is that unfortunately worldwide humans group and don't like having their social norms challenged.
It is the same bullshit reason Sunnis and Shiites kill each other. The same reason Muslims and Hindus fight over Cashmere. The same reason Myanmar Buddhists murder Muslims. The same reason Catholics and Protestants are in a shaky truce in Ireland.
The US has forgotten our original motto which was not, "In God We Trust" which really meant, "Fuck you if you are not a Christian", and even since the ink was dry on The First Amendment and our oath of office, the founders never considered the STUPIDITY of society not being able to understand what they wrote in their original intent reflected by our nation's first motto.
