On a tangent here, I have a blind fried, and we were talking to another guy and he referred to her as an "invisual", that is the PC term for blind people here. She stressed well enough that she didn't like that term "I am BLIND", she said.
Blind I can understand. It doesn't have a literal meaning, AFAIK, that suggests something dehumanizing. Invalid, well, it literally means "not valid", so ...
EDIT: After doing some reading just now, my bad. Invalid is not meant to mean "not valid" in this context. Apologies.
