No, I am a hardcore skeptic. My atheism is a provisional position, that arises from my skepticism.
Quote:If God, who is a spiritual being, is communicating himself to us, there is probably not going to be any physical evidence to show to anybody.
Several problems with this statement.
First, you and other theists are claiming to be 'god detectors'. That is a testable claim.
Second, if you are claiming your god interacts with the physical universe and his created beings, there would be evidence of said interactions. Again, this is a testable claim.
Quote:At the same time one will know if it's God. Your argument that billions of sane, educated people are experiencing illusions, or mistaken about what they experience doesn't hold much weight.
Sure it does. There have been 1000's of different studies that show just how malleable and how easy it is to fool the human mind.
Quote:I think that your belief that anything might exist beyond what we can perceive by natural means is mistaken.
I am fully open to be proven incorrect. I love to be proven wrong, and learning new things.
Please make your case.
Quote:The truth is that you will never accept God because he's not going to give you the evidence that you want.
Why would he not want to provide us with such?
Quote:I'll concede that I have nothing that will convince you that there is a God and, fortunately, God doesn't ask me to do that.
So, in other words, we are being entirely rational by not being convinced of your, and other theists claims, that god(s) exist.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
