People do not know how close they really are until they start a war with somebody, closing the imaginary borders they sat for themselves. When they begin to taste each other's sweat and realize the bullets are real, when the high-horse of each nation finally breaks, they become more submissive..more into peace..more into building instead of demolishing.
It's a human feature to believe that a reality which happened a while ago is fantasy, made by the paranoid.
No wonder humanity forgot about the hellish trenches of World War 1 or the mad firestorms of World World 2 air raids.
Humans forgot the smell of crispy flesh, humans forgot the bbq parties their mortars caused, humans forgot that high-horses brought slaughter once.
Even though we humans still have modern replicas of Hitler and Mussolini.
But the replicas learned to wear the right disguise.
