When I was in the Navy I worked in the engine room. When we opened up steam lines for repairs- generally just where it attached to the machinery- there would be asbestos floating all over the place. We didn't know any better. I also worked many years as a mechanic. If I develop asbestosis and/or mesothelioma, I'll certainly know why. I've put brakes on thousands of vehicles. I've seen where people packed rock wool into the wall cavities between studs to insulate their houses. That shit is nasty. BoT, it looks like here in southern California we're going to substitute ash from fires for snow.
