As to your other contention..it's difficult to square that away with pretty much the entirety of christendom. It doesn't seem like christians...a very...very specific claim, are comfortable with not putting god into a box. Christianity is a box, an immensely small box.

No, I wouldn't do that; and again in scripture you have examples of people disagreeing or standing up to God. Abraham and Moses both stood up to God and pleaded for him to change his mind about destruction. Jonah ran away from God's command to go to Nineveh, and contrary to Moses and Abraham, Jonah was upset because God wouldn't destroy Nineveh forgiving them instead. Disagreeing with God, and standing up against him, are not inconsistent with Christianity.
