Also, did I mention that she stayed in the closet for no reason? Yes. I understand that there are a lot of reasons a gay person struggling about their sexuality might want to keep pretending to be straight, but I can tell you, none of those reasons make much sense. For starters, she worked in the theater shop, in a community college, in a suburb of one of the bluest cities in America, in the one state that legalized homosexuality before Stonewall, so it’s not like homophobia seemed like that much of an issue. And she even told her mother she liked going to strip clubs with “titties and va-jay-jays.” And she still insisted she was straight, even after latching onto and even getting engaged to the one other bisexual girl in the scene shop.
