How do you explain this?

Well... what do you even mean? what's there to explain? You act as if this situation needs to be rectified. Had a conversation recently here on the board where I explained to a rather stubborn member that there's no reason the Nobel prize should mean anything to anyone. It means fuck-all to me? Why should I care in any way shape or form about the Nobel prize?

I care about as much about the Nobel prize as I do about the winner of the seventh grade science fair at Who Gives a Fuck middle school in Houston Texas. It means zero to me.

So, nothing against you personally... just an honest question... What are you even talking about?
