Nowt wrong with credit cards if you use them properly.  We keep a couple, simply for online shopping or booking travel - it makes things like that a helluva lot easier and if you pay your balance quickly, the interest is minimal or non-existent.

Being OK with credit cards is like being OK with payday loan companies.

You are saying it's OK for predators to take finacial advantage of people who haven't learned how to handle money.....

No one who isn’t savvy enough to use credit cards should have them. I was saying how my wife and I use them. It’s a right royal pain in the arse to try and book a hotel stay or a flight without a credit card. We’re fortunate to be in a position that allows us to use the card and pay the bill in full before the end of the billing cycle. It’s a lot safer than a debit card and a lot more convenient than carrying around great walloping wads of cash.

But I agree with you that people who most need credit are the people most likely to be taken advantage of.
