So, as long as you are continuing to keep up with the gum you are going to keep feeling those negative effects. You simply HAVE to stop consuming the gum. Here is what I would suggest:

1. decide to stop using nicotine products
2. as soon as a flick of that thought enters the mind grab it and let it inform your actions i.e. scorched earth destroy ALL the nicotine products!
3. resist the urge to buy any nicotine products
4. when you FAIL to resist the urge, and you WILL fail, go back to step 1

This method is all stick no carrot, but the result will be an economic effect that will merge the experience of nicotine with the negative effects it has on your wallet.

As far as enjoying life, well, pick something you like to do or find a friend that does something they seem to enjoy and do that until you decide if you like it or not...
