Anyone else remember when the biggest fear was that everything would come to a halt when the year 2000 hit?

Yup. Generators were unavailable.

I sold mine at a huge profit.- then bought a far better one 6 months later for less than 1/2 the money.


People who believe that arbitrary numbers rule the universe are fucking idiots.

There were the crazies thinking planes are going to fall out of the sky and elevators are going to drop.
We were running servers (old even by them days) which had very simple bioses.
My main concern was that the reports for the Monday managers meetings were accurate.
Truthfully, it was a complete non event. I had already changed the bios on all of them as a test 2 weeks earlier
