Yes, absolutely. Thank you to the doctors and nurses and respiratory therapists who are fighting the good fight right now. My heart goes out to you. My roommate works in a hospital lab (I might see if I can get her to come in here sometime) and she's been extremely busy lately. But she's doing necessary, important work and I'm proud of her and I thank her for it.
You aren't the only ones I need to give credit to. I'm lucky in that I have a job that's just been switched to work-from-home. I know a lot of other people are in dangerous positions because of their retail or delivery jobs. Thank you to the grocery store cashiers and stockers and delivery drivers and all the other people who are putting themselves on the front lines to keep our world running.
I work for a health insurance company call center. Our calls have just about died right now. We used to get hundreds of calls per day, setting up little procedures that could be done in an hour or less. Now, those procedures are all being canceled and all our calls are for inpatient admissions at a hospital. Lots of diagnosis say covid-19 and others don't say it directly, but the patient will have diagnoses like distressed breathing, fever, dry cough, ect. I suspect that's what happens when someone gets covid-19 but there's a lack of testing for them.
