Let's dispel the notion that these statues are ANYTHING but to serve as a memorial to honor traitors who fought against the United States Government in order to preserve the institution of slavery. Statues built to serve as nothing more than racist symbols co-opted by the Klu Klux Klan and other White Supremacist Groups in order to oppress black Americans.
Tearing down these statues would be making history in and of itself.
I'm totally sure you thought the statue of Saddam Hussein should stay up in Iraq, to you know... serve as a reminder of history. Oh wait, no, I bet you celebrated tearing down his statue and will call this 'false equivalence' because this isn't about History, it's about your 'heritage' which is really just 'hate'. That's what the confederacy is, and it's what it's always been. To pretend otherwise... well I'd say that makes you one of the 'adults who don't know anything about history'.
