I'm teasing two ideas that some atheists use when arguing against God.
1) I know what I would do if I were God and nobody's doing it, therefore there is no God. And
2) If there were a God his job would be to make us happy.
The amputees thing relies on these. But I see no reason to assume that a God would be that way.
I'm pretty sure all the rest of us are talking about the Abrahamic god.

This question makes sense only if you presuppose that the point of life is to be happy.
The question only makes sense in light of the claims of more fundamentalist Abrahamic religionists that their god can heal anything. If you don't think your god can heal anything, the question doesn't apply to your god.
