HBO Max’ removal of Gone With the Wind is meant to be temporary, and they plan to put it back online soon with other materials to put it into perspective. No dates have been given, but the DVD still remains in print, and thanks to the news, is selling out EVERYWHERE. 

As for the people who want to ban Huck Finn because it uses the N-I-Double-Guh-Er word, Yeah, I think they’re as dumb as you do, if only because said N-I-Double-Guh-Er (whose name is only Jim with no other adjective or appositive noun attached) is the ONLY consistently sympathetic adult in the entire fucking book (and despite living in the Platonic cave that is a slave plantation and thus lacking a good part of the common knowledge The white folks are expected to have, is often a good deal more intelligent than them, too) and that one of the most powerful scenes in the book is Huck deciding helping free him From slavery is so important that he’s willing to burn in Hell for it. And it’s not like he thinks this is a remote possibility; this is what his Community believes to be true, and, as far as Huck’s concerned, the less slavery-compliant versions of Christianity are entirely outside his experience and the pro-slavery, fire-and-brimstone Hell is the only schema he’s been exposed to. If you consider framing like that to be demeaning to black people, I advise you to listen to one of Wesley Willis’ songs about bestiality and re-enact every action in the lyrics.
