privilege isn't luck. privilege is unearned merit.
you can have earned merit which is worthy of pride. You can have unearned merit which is best expressed with humility and appreciation.
scorn, guilt, shame, jealousy ... those are all emotional-isms people add when they feel a certain way about someone else's expression or possession of privilege.
People should generally worry much more about themselves than what others have/don't. Exceptions though, like systemic racism and police brutality, should be made when it gets harmful or out of control. When demonstrations turn to riots which turn to looting which turn to anarchy/ militant-ism is an example of a scale where emotional-isms unchecked and those feeling and needs for justification unanswered that should be watched closely. "There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
