I think it's amusing that Winter fears the bomb. There's no credible scenario that the great western satan drops one on him. Smart money for that is on one of the islamists asking him for help.
It's a hell of a con, kill muslims while complaining about the west. In my experience, that's the most frustrating thing about peacekeeping in muslim areas. You stand between them and their buddies, who are shooting at them...and for whatever reason, they think it's your fault that their neighbors opened fire on them.
I'll give him this, though, the genie is out of the bottle, and people who wish for the apocalypse now have apocalyptic weapons. The last sound that human civilization ever hears may very well be some nutter shouting about god being great.
