So the little shits on the right wing, have some respect. You don’t need to be a Marxist to see how much Marx advanced our understanding of economic and social history of the world, while right wing shits spew disingenuous platitudes.
Marx was a deluded old mystic with a true talent for guessing wrong about history. He’s no threat and never has been.
Boru
Hardly.
In fact he was the exact opposite. He was the first social economic historian to ever attempt to demystify history, to elevate history above a mere chronicle of great men, moralizing characterization, and singular events largely out of deeper context, and put it on a analytical footing based on general interests Of population and Overall material conditions.
In this way he is the first Serious historian. You might say if Marx was wrong about history, it was only because Marx made it possible for there to be a history. Otherwise it was just a superficial chronicle with a opinion.
Marx had been wrong in much the same way the first people to think rationally about the world were wrong about much of what they inferred. But the methodology and framework they adopted was what made all subsequent progress possible.
Whether one is able to be right or had fallen into error within one’s lifetime is far less important than whether the method one used is fundamentally susceptible to self Correction.
