If Trump had Nixon's GOP and voter base, he would never have made it past the escalator when he announced his run.

I’m arguing public perception as well. Let it be seen as revenge. Who cares how a second impeachment is perceived by the public? Public perception - in this instance - counts for less than nothing.

And if Trump had Nixon’s support, he would have won in a landslide.

Yea, and that would kill Biden. This isn't about ethics for the GOP, but they have won far too many midterm and presidential elections by bating the sane into arguments like this. It is about the middle, moderates and swing states. 

No, public perception got the orange fucker elected in the first place. 

We already failed once trying to impeach him. Our best bet now is to vote him out in November.
