Not for nothing, but if I were running that party with control of the House,  there would be a weekly impeachment resolution sent to the Senate. Send a message that you don’t just fight the fights you can win. You fight the fights that need fighting.

The point of being tactical and avoiding some fights and not others, isn't to give up, but to be tactical.

The first impeachment proved that the GOP didn't give a shit. They are not the party of Nixon. If they had been, Trump would be out. The problem with trying it again, is not about fighting the GOP in Congress, but how swing voters will react in November. I think it is far more important to focus on beating Trump in November. We have far more recourse if Biden wins and we take back the Senate. Now if you want to say another impeachment attempt after Biden wins, before he takes office, that would be less dangerous. But I think doing it now could turn off a ton of swing voters.

It’s not tactical, it’s spineless.

Of course the GOP don’t give a shit. But, at this point, it isn’t about removing Trump from office. It’s about Democrats calling attention to GOP hypocrisy over the SCOTUS nomination and blocking it. Trump has committed a raft of offenses for which he has not been impeached. If they wait until after the election, it’s going to be too late - Trump’s nominee will be confirmed by his lapdog Senate.

Fuck the swing voters.
