Closer. ‘Hebrew’, when referring to people, is essentially a synonym for Jew (although the term is now considered somewhat derogatory - no Jewish person refers to himself as ‘a Hebrew’).
So what your asking is actually, ‘Why don’t Jews repudiate Judaism?’ That’s a remarkably stupid question.
