You are ignoring the economic realities. EVERY "successful green power source" is heavily subsidized by taxpayers.. They are not economically on par with other sources.

Period.

That doesn't mean they will not be in the long term.  Because they will.  You're hung up on start up costs the lies of oil company shills.  All sources required investors to start, whether private of public.  And if tax money pays for sustainable resources, that's a great use for it.

Moreover, renewable sources do not carry the operating costs of fossil fuels.  That's economic reality.
