You are ignoring the economic realities. EVERY "successful green power source" is heavily subsidized by taxpayers.. They are not economically on par with other sources.

That doesn't mean they will not be in the lonlg term. Because they will. You're hung up on start up costs the lies of oil company shills. All sources required investors to start, whether private of public. And if tax money pays for sustainable resources, that's a great use for it.
Moreover, renewable sources do not carry the operating costs of fossil fuels. That's economic reality.

Do you think you stick up a windmill - and it delivers free power forever?
Know what a set of blades cost? Do you know that those blades wear out? They do. Even more so in dry, hot environments.
Know how long a windmill lasts?
In general a 3 mw unit will last 25-30 years before retiring. Under ideal conditions - you may get 7-10 years out of a $125,000 blade ( times 2 or 3). Under bad conditions (salty air, dusty environments) you could easily have to replace blades every 3 years.....
No free lunch, bud....
