The story in Genesis 3 about Adam, Eve, The Serpent and the Forbidden Fruit is probably based on the Prometheus stealing fire from the gods tale in Greek mythology.
If one reads the bible closely, Satan gets a lot of bad press. Also not to mention god created hell, not Satan (who is just the first inmate in there). Indeed one can plausible make the case that Yahweh is actually the evil one and Satan being the doomed, just rebel.
