I applaud your empathy and concern for others but your understanding of economics leaves something to be desired.
Businesses need to make money to be viable. They can't do that if they pay the employees a wage higher than the worth of an employee's work.
If someone is doing work for money then they should at least be able to live off the wages. Otherwise there is no point in working.
If the business model means that they cant afford to pay a living wage then that business should fail. That's market forces for you.
