My dad had a company pension, so he didn't have to save up millions. It doesn't work that way any more.
I've been part of 2 startups which both exited. So, yeah, I've got money for retirement, but I don't know how most people do it, if they work for someone else. Whenever I open the retirement advice column of my newspaper, the scenarios are all "Bob and Cathy have 3.5 million in assets and want to spend $120,000 per year and give money to their kids - will that work?". I say "WTF, I thought I was doing well, but every single scenario is for people who are richer than me. I guess I totally missed the boat".
