Yes it is actually. More human beings require more resources. Globally and evolutionary wise, the world's birthrate has always outpaced death rates. You cant separate the connection of humans worldwide and segment it into geography. You are right, California does have a dense population, but it also provides products to the rest of the nation and world. Just like the recent floods in China are not simply effecting their populations but global commerce as well.
We are inner connected as much as we like to think we are not.
The smoke from the wild fires in 13 states in the west, as of the past couple of weeks, are reaching the east coast and effecting air quality. Not to mention disrupting commerce and destroying homes and businesses.
You cannot compartmentalize a ball. If one aspect of this planet is suffering, it isn't like you can amputate one arm because you have three other limbs. Global warming is more like a blood cancer. California should be considered the canary in the coal mine. If it can happen there, it can spread.
FYI we have had scientists since the late 1890s whom warned that burning too much fossil fuels would upset our atmosphere.
It is what, picking on California? How is OLB point out the water shortage ‘picking on’ anyone?
