How about peace of mind? The idea that a transcendent "someone" is watching over you, is very comforting. Most of the atheists I've dealt with, seem to have an inner struggle taking place within them, that renders them incapable of finding true, metaphysical rest. Even the happy atheist girl I know, is very promiscuous, to the point of absurdity.

We already discussed this one.  People who feel protected and watched over are a dime a dozen - most of us have a family, and a community, and a state, and a nation, and a culture.  That's alot of transcendence.  

As to the atheist girl you know, maybe she likes to fuck and finds metaphysical rest in it?  If you're going to be lazy or unserious, what's the point?

Okay well.......the only other thing I can think of, is transcendent religious experiences. Back when I used to attend Mass, and the organ/choir music was playing, I would sometimes have a "vision", in my mind's eye, of something grand and strange. One time I saw horses with faceless riders, riding on a cloud. Another time I saw a beautiful white woman with blond hair wearing a blue robe, she was smiling and surrounded by golden white light. I doubt any atheist has had this kind of experience.
